beginning now has more than 100 industries. Today
industries in Rajasthan consume diamond tools worth
more than Rs. 20 million yearly.
With the vast expansion of the industry the need for a
strong diamond tools association was felt for a long
time. Panchsheel Jain said that this new association
would fulfil the long standing requirement.
Apart
from constituting the association, various other
important matters of common interest were discussed in
the seminar. Matter related to implementation of VAT
was taken up by N.K. Gupta to brief participants with
the latest steps taken. Matter related to
participation in India StoneaMart 2007, which is
scheduled to take place from February 1-4, 2007 at
Jaipur, was also taken up for discussion.
Earlier, Sharad Kankaria, Director, Rajasthan
Electricals and Powders and secretary of newly formed
association briefly outlined the association's future
plans. He disclosed that soon the association would
publish a souvenir carrying all the necessary
information related to diamond tool industry. He
further said that the association would also be
organising workshops on different subjects. Campaign
for making new members would be their priority.
On the
eve of seminar Vijay Gahi, Vice President; Rakesh
Solanki, Joint Secretary and J.B. Roy, Treasurer of
the newly formed association expressed their views on
different subjects.
In the
open session, held at the end of the seminar, many
members of the association including K. Vikram,
Himanshu Sehgal, Ashok Sarkar, Dev Kumar Godika, Manoj
Nahata and Manoj Gujrani took active part. K. Vikram,
President, Stone Technology Centre, speaking in the
session said that his regular participation in
important international trade fairs has helped
immensely in delveloping good business relations as
well as acquiring knowledge of technical developments
in the sector. He appreciated the formation of the
association and assured full support to it.
